Through choral song and spoken word, Amphion Youth Choir (AYC) annually presents what we like to call a Dynamic Vocal Event. Our performances consist of World Music, works by Contemporary Composers, and Popular Song. Amphion is an Austin-based community of musicians aged 15-23 years old. AYC is committed to producing a series of innovative concert experiences throughout the year.
AYC is in the planning stages for its 7th concert season. Click here to see the latest news.
This summer, Amphion presents "SHINE ON: Stories of Hope". Through song and prose, Amphion will weave through the bright innocence of childhood, the discovery of tragedy and grief, and our collective capacity for hope even in the darkest of times. This local tour features such composers as Craig Hella Johnson and Eric Whitacre, as well as Paul Simon and James Taylor, and contains pieces in languages from around the world, including Latin, Gaelic, and Finnish. AYC is collaborating with the 2013 & 2014 Austin Critics Table Award winner for “Best Ensemble” - line upon line percussion group, along with Austin Haller on the piano, and Luke Hoeft on the guitar to present an experience not to be missed.
